So there was a gay pride rally in Florida and a guy drove his car into the crowd. Bastard. A local Democrat politician denounced this as yet more right wing terrorism and pretty soon folks were linking this outrage to the state’s Republican Governor, Ron deSantis, hated by liberal bien pensants for, inter alia, having limited mask rules and relaxed lockdown rules something which has not actually seen cases surge but who cares it was wrong anyway. The kind owners of the Azteri hotel here in Metsovo switched the TV onto the BBC World News channel to please me. Since neither speak English it must have been all Greek to them, to me it was just the usual Trump hatefest. I listened carefully as I was told repeatedly how much folks in Europe and in Britain all disliked poor Donald Trump. I am sure that among the liberal media elite, the overpaid privileged bien pensants who serve up garbage on the BBC that is correct. But what of the ordinary folks of Europe?

It is not that he is a smug bastard constantly appearing on our TV screens to say how much money he and his frightful Mrs have given away to support all the good causes favoured by the bien pensants although that is enough to make me want to put him on one of Richard Branson's dodgy rockets along with Saint Bono of tax-dodging and Branson himself on a one way trip to outer space. What really riles me about Gates and Microsoft is how upgrades and updates that I neither want nor need really fuck my life up.
